My dear friend has asked why no updates for a month, to think about it alot of effort and time is needed to update blogs ha. And for someone who does things based on feelings and emotions, I seek the feeling to type and talk about somethings. Sometimes the feeling comes but fades off, perhaps I should jot it down and then type it out. Well recently had a gathering with some of my old friends, 7 of us including me and all ladies except me. Well all of us are almost same age except for one or two who are 1 year younger but two already carry the title 'Mrs' and one of em is in fact a Mama soon next March. When you meet friends you haven met for a long time, its only natural that you bitch about the past and get a good laugh out of it as well as to rekindle about old times. But a statement one of them mentioned to me "look back at things that wont come back again..? i rather look forward in anticipation of better things to come" Yeah although I think we were referring to different things in the conversation, I felt that what she said was really true, and perhaps I have been really living in the past for too long.
Started the day at Cedele at Raffles City, with almost having all of them turning up late except for a punctual one. Cedele offers great pan cakes, blue berry pan cakes but Raffles City branch did not serve ice cream thus no ice cream on top of it to my friend's dismay lol. While three of us who reached ordered and started eating, the rest slowly turned up and the conversation getting heated up and everyone getting excited about the different topics brought up and as usual I'll be squabbling with one of them and some point in time it'll end up with "Argh dont wana argue with you.." Other than pancakes it was mainly pasta that we had, but I didnt have another round after the pan cakes as I didnt find the beef which I wanted to order appealing from the looks and taste of what the others ordered. Yes two of them had second round of pasta or sandwich, which was more than me! Well the place was not too bad but a little small with only one staff running around and the air conditioning wasnt that good, a little stuffy and service was abit low standard especially when the staff came to refill the water and didnt refill all the cups.
After Cedele two had to leave for some events that they had and we headed for some ice cream at Haagen Dazs after many choices were left out. Conversation continued about one of them who was married recently and she went on telling everyone about her love stories. Ok enough of her mushy stuff and we shut her and moved to other topics. We talked about some misunderstandings of the past which cleared up a little as well as scandals that happened within the group along with an incident what I viewed as jealously, in which a new member was seen as one who tried to enter into the group and breaking it up in the process ha. One thing was that at the Haagen Dazs, the Philipino Manager, provided great service. My friend just rubbed her arms and exclaimed its cold in Chinese and the guy immediately sensed and came forth to explain it was something to do with the air conditioning which I didnt hear clearly. When he then brought the bill over he also explained about the current promotion for the moon cakes as well as the service pick up service they offer now. The speech was done in a very professional way and didnt sound long winded at all. Great service I must say.
Well end of the day after the fun, chats and all, I find that squabbles are unavoidable but we understand its for the fun of it and no hard feelings and appreciate the friendship over the years. There were some issues that I had with one or two of them that I still remember or hold against till date but have started to let go and forget for the friendship that dated more than 10 over years ago is more precious than some other stuff. Even though there are those whom I still cant forget or forgive, those who I treat as a true friend, the friendship is dear, as we grow older, we lose more friends even though we make new friends as well but good and trustworthy friends are not easy to come by. Although organising a meeting for a group of us is a pain in the ass, but I still do it as end of day I cherish the friendship. I was really close with a few, but over time we grew apart, perhaps we will never be as close again but at least we still keep in contact like this once awhile. Friends need not meet up every now and then but occasions like this should be held more regularly and the next one would perhaps be in Christmas! Hopefully..
Dragonball spree recently. Starting with this old Ban Presto game prize which I wanted to get for a long time. Back then was thinking on whether to get it or not and when decided to do so, it was gone! Well finally chanced upon it at a good price through my friend and here it is finally with me.
Was really interested in getting this set but decided to just get the Shen Long. Managed to also get the variant gold version! Will try to get the Vegeta in the spaceship, need to hunt for it.
Dragonball Pandoroma set! Looks really good when assembled, as it can combine into a nice diorama which included mini figures.

Think these will go on lelong soon from the abundance of these overflowing on the shelves, though I find the Wolverine & Human Torch pack not too bad. Well seems like this would be the end of this line locally as most based on past experience, poor sales will lead to stoppage of the newer waves.
