Movie Outing -- Ice Age 3

Went down to CSC Sunday, a visit since SAM, well it was pretty much the usual people around and there wasnt much big release recently of any toys. Met my friends there and walked over to Xeno Hobbyworkz stall and had a chat with Vincent starting an interesting topic on ZH, no not you married man is the other ZH. Vincent's 1st statement about him was "Ah recently he dating izit, saw him just now and is well dressed unlike normally." I replied "Even you know?" "Of course, dress till so smart now ha" Well I had not met ZH at CSC yet thus didnt see what he wore but well other than his clothing perhaps it the aura that he emits lol.. The power of love man ha.. But truly our man looks different today upon seeing him, donning a white shirt over a T-shirt inside and a pair of berms along with a white pair of loafers. Hair was nicely done up along with contacts, gone was the slippers, glasses, cap and sling bag. Well as usual his hands was full of items this time round Spawn figures.

Walked around and my friend managed to get a Scrump doll for a really good price, seems like its pretty popular to go catch those dolls and put up for sale. Took a walk around and some small talks here and there and headed to People's Park for a bus to PS. Learnt that there was a shuttle service there. Great found out something new, really convenient after CSC ha. Went to play the basketball game again and made it pass the 150 points but not the 250 boo.. Well next time. Ha.. Think must get the machine at home man lol. Another visit to Toys Outpost and gotten a set of Stitch figures, never fail to leave empty handed with the variety of stuff there man ha. Had a pretty late and heavy breakfast so decided to smuggle 2 burgers in for the show rather than a proper meal haha. Was early this time round ha.

Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
Well before the show, I was wondering how come dinosaurs appeared after Ice Age which they were apparently extinct before the Ice Age but turns out that they belonged to a different realm underground. The show is really funny, the story is basically about how the group of friends or creatures nearly went separate ways but got back together after Sid gotten some T-rex eggs and tries to be a parent but ends up getting taken by the T-Rex mom, Momma. The characters are mostly the same as before of Sid, Diego, Ellie and Manny. So the group gathers trying to rescue him meeting a 1 eyed weasel, Buck who leads up to find Sid. Something funny is a female companion squirrel called Scratte, has been added for Scrat, who is still chasing for his acorn. The 2 squirrels then fall in love and there was a part where the acorn was left alone and a music scene of how the acorn heartbroken. Really think the story and everything was really well written. Had a good laugh and some of the scenes was pretty sweet.

Well headed for Rochor beancurd after the show but decided to go and try play Left 4 Dead at X Games. Ha the game was pretty fun, its a First Person Shooter (FPS) game and you can choose to play versus mode or campaign mode. Versus mode will be human against zombies. Campaign mode is roughly the same just that the zombies are Artificial Intelligence. Basically you shoot hordes of zombies and some special ones which have added abilities. Probably will write an entry on it ha. Well was quite fun shooting zombies and helping your team mates again ha. Fun right? Can go play again! Well went on for beancurd and there was not too many people at the stall, though had to wait a queue for awhile to get the food and seats, shows how much money this simple business can bring in ha. Alas beancurd with soya bean and fried 'you tiao' yum.. Good day minus that there was no fireworks this time round ha. Perhaps shall catch on National Day man. Gotten some gifts too ha. An interesting item to a clay digging kind of item for a Dinosaur nest. Ha need to take time to do it soon. Along with a cute mini Popo doll. Ha thanks alot for the items man ha. Hope you liked what you gotten too lol..

The dino digging set

The Popo, he actually keeps his arms behind his back if you notice ha

Movie Outing -- I Love You, Man

Had another great Saturday outing the other day, though it started off with an hour wait at Sunshine Plaza -_- Well KKnM was closed for the weekend as they were off for the Dai Con event in Msia. So visited Xeno Hobbyworkz, finding the other version of Buu with from the Dragonball mini diorama series, along with a rejected bootleg Arale due to failed QC ha.. Seriously till date I still think the shop diagonally from Xeno Hobbyworkz, which displays lots of female figurines is a money laundering shop man. It never opens or rather hardly. Till date, I've only seen it opened once upon my many visits to Sunshine Plaza, and I visit there pretty often. Went to OG to take a look at the new line of the upcoming GI Joe movie figures. 3.75" figures with lotsa accessories and quite good looking but some of the weapons colour is too dull but the vehicles look really great but hefty price. Didnt pick up any as I foresee this line ending up like Indiana Jones figures at $3 each. 2 reasons 1. GI Joe do not have that many supporters especially with today's generation 2. Not many are willing to fork out that amount $18.90 for a 3.75" figure or perhaps only a few like Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander especially after what happened to Indy

Went to G & B Comics and its display really increased quite alot and the display of the statues really looked fantastic mainly Sideshow and Bowen stuff. However its current new location at Rochor Centre is really a bad choice, probably attracting only their regulars as its location is not clearly visible and accessible as well. Oh saw the new Marvel Select Wolverine with the variant 1st appearance which looked quite ugly lol but the normal version looked fine. Guess its only matter of time before it ends up at my home.

Normal Wolverine

Variant of the 1st apperance Wolverine
Then headed to stroll Iluma where there was an event, Singapore Games Creation Competition (SGCC) where it was a competition of digital media development and games creation for the secondary schools. There were a few cosplayers around admist the huge number of secondary kids. Also dropped by the Play Imaginative store selling the designer toys Tofu, Tofu Molly series etc. Pretty good display in the store with many items imprinted with Tofu pics for sale but 1 item caught our attention which was a blind box trading figure, shorter than my finger but was going for like $60-70 which was like wth. Noticed a pretty nice black jacket in a Level 1 but it looked like a biker's jacket plus the price was too hefty so didnt get it but the shop has pretty nice shirts. Gotten a deck of Boys Over Flowers poker cards from Comics Connection and headed to the arcade on the top floor. Top floor is an arcade with lots of updated games and comfortable seats and filled with the doll/plushie catching machines. With the increasing popularity of the doll/plushie catching machines, its not surprised that they have many of such machines but there were 2 machines offered weird prizes. One offered Tamiya cars as prize and the other Magnum and Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Seriously do not understand why would anyone want to attempt to get those as those were not really that expensive and could be easily gotten from retail stores. Passed by Falcon's Hangar but didnt go in and headed to take a bus to Cine for show as it was getting late. Started drizzling but lucky we reached Cine and we were late again lol but Cathay's advertisements seemed longer thus the show had not started yet.

Watched I Love You, Man. I thought the show was on sneak but its out for a while. It a funny show about this guy Peter Klaven, acted by Paul Rudd, was getting married but he had no friends and needed one as his best man after hearing his wife-to-be friends saying they were worried as Peter had no friends. So he went on a mission to get a best man through dates set up by his brother, mum and over the internet which resulted in him meeting gay, weird soccer fan with a high pitched voice and an old man pretending to be a young man over the net. Finally he met Sydney Fife, acted by Jason Segel, at a showroom he held and they soon become buddies which along the way shared many funny experiences and common interests together and finally became Peter's best man. Think in life its not easy to find someone who really share common interest and do the same kind of rubbish activities together, be it your life time partner or your closest buddy, if you find one must cherish the bonding and remember that everyone is flawed and have to give in to one another's imperfections. 酒逢知己千杯少

After the show, dropped by at Rapid Culture and saw them selling this set of markers for the San Guo BB Gundams. Its those silver and gold markers along with metallic based colours like red, blue etc and was quite reasonably priced at $20+ a set. It is pretty good for the kits as it is an easy solution for those who do not paint their kits but want a good alternative. Intended to go Orchard Central but the weather was not looking so good so went to Meridien for dinner. There was this Thai beef noodle stall which served a different kind of beef noodle than your usual ones you see around locally. Its dry version was with dark soy sauce and with fried garlic but was not bad. Beef was not too hard too. Didnt have my camera to take a pic of it but eating beef noodle reminded me of Hock Lam Beef Noodle. Ah must go eat next week ok? ha.. Picked up Yami Yogurt a peach flavour and grape flavour but it was beginning to get mixed with rain water as it had begin to rain. Luckily i had an umbrella to stop shelter us and the yogurt. When we reached Plaza Singapura, there were fireworks again like last Sat. The fireworks looked pretty good think must go catch it on National Day.

Went to Zone X to play the basketball game and for both games sadly didnt even make it pass the 2nd round zZZ.. Next time! Headed back to PS and a mini incident happened. A weird old lady was cycling and suddenly cut into my path then I wonder if she thought I went into her path without giving way to her or something. She suddenly asked if I had kids in Hokkien and suddenly started yelling some vulgarities which I ignored at first. She then went off but stopped to yell vulgarities again and that kinda irked me and signaled her to come over but she went off. Kinda ruined the day but well.. Headed to Toys Post and spotted this pair of Chipmunks mini tumbler or roly poly and a vinyl X'mas Stitch for a very good price. Well 1 weird thing is the shop accept credit cards but not Nets zZZ.

Called it a day and took the train back but met my friend on the train who went to East Coast for picnic with his girlfriend but it rained. Bad day ha. Well went to Mac to have a small bite and chit chat and also gotten another Ice Age figure ha..

Momma Dinno, dinosaur from the Ice Age
Its head can swap from a friendly smiley one to a fierce one revealing its teeth
Manny the mammoth, can swing its head left and right using a switch on its headDiego the sabertooth, supposedly with a spring up action that doesnt really workWhat I have so far..

How to be Rich

I always tell my friends, there are 3 ways to get rich:

  1. Born rich
  2. Strike rich
  3. Marry rich

Born rich -- simply born with a silver spoon, something you cant control or change

Strike rich -- winning the lottery, something you can achieve from the Chinese New Year 10 million Toto yearly

Marry rich -- need I say more?

But that brought about a quote from my friend,

"If your father is not rich its not your fault, but if your father-in-law is not rich, its your fault!"

so you need what you need to do lol.

Another activities filled day starting in the noon with a 1 hour wait for someone to arrive resulting in me being late, despite planning the meetup half an hour in advance, crappy. Well after meeting my friend we saw this dragonball keychain tikam machine and decided to try our luck on the Shen Long piece. 1st 3 tries ended up with 3 different pieces which was pretty good but no Shen Long piece. Decided to go try it again after a short walk as I thought luck was pretty good on our side but end up getting 4 extras zzZ.

the tikams

Caught Transformers 2 at GV Marina. 2 advice, firstly if u watching at GV dun go in too early as we were more than 15mins late and the show did not even start when we went in, unless you wish to catch the trailers along with the huge amount of advertisements. Secondly do not drink too much water as TF2 is almost 2.5 hours and you will have to piss in your pants if you take too much liquid and still wana catch the whole show. Overall the movie was pretty good with lots of explosions and fights especially the part which Optimus Prime took on 3 of the Decepticons. Well another reason for guys would be Megan Fox who looked really hot in the show along with Isabel Lucas, the hot Species wannabe with a long robotic tongue.

Isabel Lucas

Some bad points, some scenes was very fast, one yawn with you closing your eyes and you could have part of the action. Non-Transformers friends would have difficulty recognising the robots as think it wasn't really clear on who was what. 1 thing I didn't get it, if the weapon that destroyed Constructicons is so powerful? Why not just use it to destroy everything?

After that went looking around at toys and picked up Star Wars Saesee Tiin Jedi Fighter. Cool orange coloured fighter. Its design is longer and slimmer than other Jedi fighers like Anakin and Obi Wan's fighters. 1 bad thing, the droid is fixed firmly to the fighter, cant even turn its head. Other than that the usual missiles firing features along with detachable wings and a stand below to let the fighter stand up. Oh and the cock pit for the pilot, in this case Saesee Tiin, to seat in.

Saesee Tiin's orange Star Fighter

Had dinner at Funan Centre's food court after being drawn by Nasi Briyani some people were having. Well wasn’t the chicken was not too bad but the mutton was too fatty and not soft I felt and the rice was kind of sticky. Must go for North Point's Nasi Briyani some time again. Missed the fireworks as we were walking off but a pretty good day till then although the day was drawing to an end but the night was still young.

Round 2 of the activities started meeting up with my buddies after 1 of em rang me saying he was near my place. Decided to meet in town instead so all 3 of us could meet which seemed like a bad choice in the end. After accompanying my friend to get a T shirt and dinner at Marina Square, we went to pick the last of the 3 musketeers up at Clarke Quay. Decided to go for beancurd at Rochor but as we passed by the crowd was mad. As if they were giving away free beancurd, there were lots of people outside were waiting for their takeaways or orders or waiting for seats. Decided to head somewhere else but was limited but the restrictions of activities that we can do in Singapore at night. After wasting much petrol decided to head to near my place for some food and drinks. Halfway there, my friend said he was pretty tired and suggested dropping me then my friend off and heading back instead. Honestly quite paiseh about it but since already there might as well get a drink as its really been a while since we met. Was joined by another friend of mine for some food and beer and talk cock session. As we grow older we have different commitments be it work, family, gf or bf and life is no longer as carefree and full of different problems and obstacles. Its hard at times find time to do little and simple things in life. From a group of 4 buddies to be left with 3 is just as sad as any relationship. Well hopefully able to meet up soon again under better circumstances and time and place ha. Just to clarify ha it wasn't a trick to get you there Kenny ha.. It was too impromptu. Next time we go for a good dinner and drinking session ba. Good luck in your job man.

Well Ice Age 3 is screening now. Loved Part 1 and 2 was not too bad, will catch 3 soon hopefully. For now McDonalds is giving away Ice Age 3 toys and I just had to get Scrat when I saw it. Who can forget the squirrel and its nut lol.. Will considering getting all but having to eat so many Happy Meals is abit scary. Will see how it goes.

the leaf will show a squirrel face when you rub it
you can shoot the nut out by pressing the button on its bottom left in the 1st pic

A Better Tommorow

It has been a very unpleasant period of time since start of year. Filled with a mixture of negative feelings, from disappointment to anguish to a stench of foul betrayal.. It has really been a crappy period of time. Though think I still haven gotten out of everything but felt better over encouragement from friends and family, through durians, coffee and the companionship. One word, thanks. Trying to stop thinking about some things which I have no control and spend time considering things I should be doing. A new direction, goal and drive to prove to myself and others. Guess its inevitable to not think back at times but like my friends keep saying "Move on", gotta brace myself together.

Had quite an eventful day last Saturday, starting with lunch at Yam Cha then followed by a toy hunt session with a friend. Started with a fruitless trip to Sunshine, missing the Gurren Laggen Kuji event. Then made way to Plaza Singapura, which now having quite a few toy shops, from Basement 1's Action City all the way to the top with Comics Connection, some Jap merchandise shop and Simply Toys along with the others. Then made way to Latendo, which I haven been to since it moved over to Leisure Park. Bad choice of location I must say, though there are many facilities like cinema, ice skating rink and all, there wasnt really much crowd on a Saturday. Well nevertheless the overall visit wasnt too bad, as Latendo's dispaly seem to have increased. You can always get to see alot of interesting stuff over there. And well 'managed' to get a tikam which we wanted lol.

Well decided to catch a movie there and decided to watch Drag Me to Hell. Actually didnt sleep through the night and was pretty tired but the show was not bad, with quite a original and interesting story ha and didnt doze off throughout the show. Quite a few scary scenes along with much gore n gruesome parts though the last part was kinda predictable. Basically its about the female lead, Christine Brown, a loan officer getting cursed by an old gypsy woman after rejecting her appeal for an extension on her loan and how she gets haunted and tries to fight the curse. Before the show started went to the arcade and played games which I haven't played for a long time or have never tried before. Oh played the basketball shooting game at the Zone X arcade at Dhoby Ghaut MRT for the 1st time before going over to Latendo, always thought it should not be that hard but well I was wrong! Pretty tiring and different from the actual rim and its addictive man ha. Anyways played Bishy Bashy, Mario Go-kart and the Air Hockey over at the arcade and it was fun ha. It was overall quite a fun day with good activities and companionship, haven had such fun for quite some time. Should do it more often, well TF2 time then.. Ah didnt expect to be a goer for horror shows ha. Yeah thanks for the fun day.

Well since you mentioned, this is for you, Carue under POP One Piece line. Its called 跑得快 and is Princess Vivi's rider in the story and like its chinese name, it runs really fast ha though it looks kinda clumsy. The action it makes is when it obeys and understand the order given cute right? haha.. It actually belongs to a clan of duckies lol..

And since the last post was on Red Hulk decided to take some pics of my Red Hulk figures.
The small 3.75" Marvel Fury Files
Exclusive Marvel Select Red Hulk
Marvel Legends BAF Red Hulk
The yellow Wolverine with variant black
Well newly gotten 3.75" Union Jack as comparison to the 7" one
Already sold out my extra loose Marvel Legends Red Hulk so only got old blur pics to make do with till i opened up mine

Stay Home Friday

To go with your heart or go with your brain?

Many times we are entangled between the choice of going with your heart of the brain. A logical person perhaps goes with what his mind tells him, as it is definitely the more rational thing to do. A emotional person perhaps will go with the heart, as his feeling is telling him that he should do it depsite it may not be the right thing to do. Perhaps alot of matters we can go with the mind and brain making a right and logical choice, but one matter for sure cant be explained or chosen by the mind or logic, that is Love. Perhaps the most wonderful and at the same time most mystical feeling of all, the most bitter and at the same time the sweetest feeling of all.. Your mind tells you not to find her as she says "You are not the one!" but your heart tells you to go for it as you feel that she is the one. It would be ideal like romance stories and movies for a fairy tale ending if you touched her at the end but reality bites as you see her embrace another's arms. Despite the repeated advices from your friends and family to leave her and get over with, your heart overrules the brain and tells you there might be a chance for a change, a change for the better.. But many times the happy ending of "happily ever after" never comes.. In place is the cold, harsh and endless wait of the ending never to come.. However bleak the light looks, you still reach out in hope the one day you will reach the end of the darkness where light and warmth will once again embrace you..

Today is Stay Home Day as my whole family was out most of the day and I stayed home armed with my favourite Ruffles BBQ flavour and a can of Coke as I went on my own movie marathon. A very nice old show i watched was Kate and Leopold, its a romance story from 2001 starring "Wolverine" Hugh Jackman as Leopold and Meg Ryan as Kate on how Leopold came to future from the past and fall in love with Kate. Hugh Jackman is really charming in the show even without his beard and sideburns ha. Such a show invoked feelings within one as I remember in the show Meg Ryan said "maybe that whole love thing is just a grown-up version of Santa Claus, just a myth we've been fed since childhood. So we keep buying magazines, joining clubs, and doing therapy and watching movies with hit pop songs played over love montages all in a pathetic attempt to explain why our love Santa keeps getting caught in the chimney" *sighs.. Another part was the opening phrase of the opera show "Que ton visage est doux entouré? Par la lumiére de la lune." which meant "How sweet your face looks gently encircled by the soft moonlight". Do catch it if you have never done so before, as even my good friend Alvin rates it as one of he favourite or rather his favourite romance show, as he watched it more than the number of times i have watched Star Wars Episode 1-6 combined.

Forgot to talk about the few Final Fantasy figures the other day. These are from Final Fantasy Master Creatures Series 1, picked up these 3 as the others 2 Cefca Palazzo and Magnus Sisters really cant make it.

First is the most famous and powerful summon Bahamut from FF. Different versions with different names but more or less look the same like a dragon or rather is a dragon.

Next is Ifrit, fire-based summon throughout most FF would have him as a early summon but less powerful.

Lastly is Leviathan, water-based summon famous in FF as well as the water god, normally causing a tsunami when it comes.

Also sharing 2 cute Final Fantasy plushies which I have gotten recently, Cactuar and Tornberry.

Cactuar normally found in an isolated island very hard to hit and always running away quickly. Do not let its cute appearance deceive you as before running away, it'll attack you with his famous move"1000 needles", literally 1000 needles hitting you for 1000 damage, well not that bad considering his 'boss" King Cactuar has a '10,000 needles' move lol..

Tornberry, armed with a lamp and knife appears in most FF with a fatal stab of death with its cleaver. Like its counterpart, he also has a 'boss' which is bigger than him with a crown on his head showing his royalty as Tornberry King.

An exciting love life with ups and downs or a stable relationship?
